Jonathan Wing is an English, French, and Haitian Creole speaking half-Filipino, quarter-Dutch, eighth-Chinese, sixteenth-German, sixteenth-Irish, Canadian-born citizen of the United States of America living in the Greater Salt Lake area.

 

After graduating valedictorian of his high school class, Jonathan continued his education at Brigham Young University where he studied Global Marketing at the Marriott School of Business. He studied abroad in Israel, Egypt, Jordan, Switzerland, France, England, China, and Japan.

 

Jonathan attended Le Cordon Bleu, one of the worlds most renowned culinary schools. While studying, he joined the Editorial Food team at The Los Angeles Times where he wrote, tested recipes and food styled for the paper's weekly food print and online presence. Jonathan's work was also featured on CBS, KTLA, and KUTV. He was the owner and founder of Perfect Baking, an online business and resource providing products and services to professional and home bakers. He developed and manufactured a one-of-a-kind digital kitchen scale overseas, designed a male apron line, and wrote instructional baking television segments. 

 

In 2012, Jonathan attended the prestigious London School of Economics and Political Science where he graduated with a MSc in International Development. His emphases were in development studies, complex emergencies, research design, social research, social policy, organizational change, and managing humanitarianism. His studies included an independent consultancy project with the Disasters Emergency Committee - including the fourteen leading UK charities.

Jonathan moved back to the United States in 2013 and worked for Sinclair Broadcast Group in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was recruited to be the Director for Marketing and Public Relations for Spark Innovation where he managed the creative branding, marketing, and PR for eight brands and 16 different products. As a Program Manager, Jonathan managed the production needs of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints before moving to his current role as Product Manager at FamilySearch International.

On a more personal note, Jonathan is all about people and family. He has also been involved with various humanitarian and service efforts for the Red Cross, International Rescue Committee, Utah Refugee Connection, Locks of Love, Boy Scouts of America and other non-profit organizations.  One of his favorite experiences was a water distribution project he helped run to assist hurricane victims in Gonaive, Haiti.  Aside from spending time in the kitchen, he loves watching movies, listening to music, playing the piano, writing songs, playing tennis, talking to friends and family. The most important thing to Jonathan is spending time with his beautiful wife Emilia and their four children.
